About the Role:
Join a passionate and dedicated team at Brophy Family & Youth Services as our Youth Development Worker, where you'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of impactful programs including Foyer Warrnambool, WILD, Stoked Surf Therapy, and the YES program. This casual role offers a unique chance to support young people and their families, helping them navigate challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
You'll be working within structured program frameworks and bringing your knowledge of relevant youth-focused legislation to the table. Advocacy and providing excellent customer service are at the heart of this role, ensuring the needs of program participants and stakeholders are met. Building and maintaining strong relationships with other agencies and community groups will be key to achieving successful outcomes for the individuals and families you support.
You'll also be required to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism, with the possibility of overnight or stand-up shifts depending on your qualifications.

A full list of key duties is outlined in the Position Description, but includes responsibilities in:
* Engage with young people using a variety of strategies and methods.
* Support young people utilising a variety of interventions and frameworks such as: Adventure Therapy, Narrative Therapy, developmental theory, attachment and trauma theory, solution-focused, strength-based practices, mediation and practical and social support.
* Develop strong networks and working relationships with other agencies, including government and non-government organisations, community and education sector, whilst advocating for clients, representing Brophy in a professional manner in all dealings
* Undertake case support work including; support to access intake, assessment, Outcome Star, case planning, goal setting, case coordination, support referrals, case reviews and case closure in conjunction with other workers.
Do your skills include:
* Demonstrated case management, adventure therapy, outdoor education and youth work experience in particular engaging at risk or disengaged young people.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of understanding of the appropriate legislation, case management practice, and the ability to adhere to policy and procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to demonstrate experience in liaise with a diverse range of clients.
* An ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders, to negotiate and advocate on behalf of service users, volunteers and staff.
Are your credentials:
* A minimum qualification of a sector-recognised and accredited Certificate 4 in Community Services or an equivalent.
Or;
* A minimum qualification of a sector-recognised and accredited Diploma in Community Services or equivalent (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: ie. AASW, Community Services Council, APS etc.)
* A current Drivers Licence.
