Experienced health, safety & training professional with proven experience in the mining production load and haul environment. Key requirements
* Cert IV in Health & Safety
* First aid
* ISO Auditor
* Cert IV in Training & Assessment
* NPC - within 3 months
Key responsibilities
* Proven HSE & Training Advisor experience in the Mining Production – Load & Haul department.
* Coaching and mentoring team members in safe work methods and advise site management on all safety, medic, and environmental matters
* Working with and continuing to develop and maintain our mine safety management systems
* Providing advice on measures needed to minimise hazards or unsafe situations
* Ensuring standard risk management approaches are implemented
* Providing advice on Health & Safety matters on site along with issues which may arise
* Conducting formal Alcohol and Drug testing on site and administrating fitness for work processes
* Liaising with medical officials and institutions including doctors, hospitals, and the RFDS
* Workplace inspections
* Assisting in the preparation JHA's and risk assessments
* Administration and filing of all safety related documentation on site and maintaining the HSE Lucidity software system
* Assisting in worker rehabilitation management
* Facilitate hygiene monitoring and interpret reports
* Generate safety reports, and correlate all safety performance statistics
* Spending time in the field completing safety observations and coaching conversations
* Responding to incidents and emergencies as necessary
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the W.A Work Health and Safety Act 2020, Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 and associated regulatory advisory material.
* Developed report writing and analytical skills
* Great interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills
* Excellent organisational & communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
