This is an "Open Ended" Metropolitan and Regional Recruitment Pool with suitable applicants offered positions as vacancies arise at various prisons.
Currently, there is one (1) permanent full time vacancy at Wooroloo Prison Farm and one (1) permanent part time vacancy at Wandoo Rehabilitation Prison.
About The Role
As an experienced and qualified teacher and coordinator you will have the opportunity to enter the exciting field of Correctional Education within a custodial facility. As part of a multidisciplinary team you will contribute to making a difference in the lives of prisoners and protection of the community.

The Prisoner Education Coordinator works as a team member to provide a comprehensive education and vocational training service to clients. They assist with educational responsibilities that relate to education process, including curriculum, teaching, assessing, staff development and industry liaison.

The leave entitlement for this position includes 4 weeks of Professional Allowance leave in addition to 4 weeks of Annual Leave.

Role Specific Criteria:

* The qualification requirements for the position include a tertiary teaching qualification or equivalent.
* A Certificate IV Training & Assessment is also required (this can be completed within six months of employment).

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.

All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.

Open Pool Recruitment
This is an open-ended pool recruitment process which means there is no closing date for applications. We assess candidates on an ongoing basis for suitable applicants to be selected to the pool as vacancies arise.

When selected to the pool, the pool will be open for a period of twelve (12) months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however an appointment is not guaranteed.
