Vision of the Role
The Warehouse & Logistics Assistant Manager is the second in charge of daily warehouse and logistics operations, supporting disciplined execution, safety, and on time delivery across all installs and collections.
This role exists to ensure operational continuity, floor leadership, and execution excellence, particularly when the Warehouse & Logistics Manager is unavailable. It plays a critical role in protecting inventory, supporting team performance, and maintaining operational standards that enable Sell in Style to scale safely and profitably.
This position is also a development pathway into the Warehouse and/or Logistics Manager role.
Position Purpose
The Warehouse & Logistics Assistant Manager supports the end-to-end execution of warehouse, inventory, fleet, and logistics operations.
The role ensures that daily warehouse readiness, loading, deliveries, installations, and collections are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.
While the Warehouse & Logistics Manager retains overall accountability, the Assistant Manager is responsible for running the floor, leading by example, and stepping into an acting Manager role when required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations Support
• Support daily warehouse setup, cleanliness, organisation, and end-of-day reset
• Ensure inventory is stored, labelled, handled, and prepared in line with SOPs
• Assist with receiving, checking, and processing new stock into the system
• Maintain warehouse zoning, layout, and workflow efficiency
• Ensure warehouse readiness for daily loading schedules
1. Logistics & Delivery Execution
• Support daily loading of trucks, ensuring accuracy, safety, and readiness
• Oversee the floor loading and departure preparation when required
• Ensure correct handling, loading, unloading, and care of all inventory
• Monitor daily installs and collections against schedule and quality standards
• Actively flag delays, issues, or risks to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager
1. Acting Manager's Responsibility
• Act as the onsite operational lead in the absence of the Warehouse & Logistics Manager
• Make real-time operational decisions aligned with existing processes and standards
• Coordinate closely with the Manager on any major changes, incidents, or risks
• Lead toolbox talks, safety checks, and daily task direction when acting in charge
1. Inventory & Asset Care
• Support inventory accuracy and asset protection across warehouse and logistics
• Assist with cycle counts, stock checks, and damage reporting
• Ensure damaged items are identified, isolated, and logged correctly
• Protect company furniture, accessories, tools, vehicles, and equipment
• Escalate recurring damage, loss, or process gaps to the Manager
1. Fleet & Equipment Support
• Assist with vehicle readiness checks periodically
• Ensure vehicles are clean, safe, and compliant before departure
• Support tracking of servicing, maintenance, and incident reporting
• Promote safe vehicle use and adherence to company policies
1. Safety, Compliance & Standards
• Uphold WHS policies and safe manual handling practices at all times
• Ensure correct use of PPE across warehouse and site operations
• Identify hazards, near misses, or unsafe behaviour and act immediately
• Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
• Lead by example in creating a safety first culture
1. Team Leadership & Support
• Support day to day leadership of warehouse and logistics team members
• Set clear expectations on tasks, behaviour, and standards
• Support team members on correct processes and performance
• Escalate performance concerns to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager promptly
• Foster teamwork, pride, accountability, and ownership on the floor
1. Systems, Processes & Improvement
• Follow and reinforce all SOPs, checklists, and systems
• Ensure accurate use of Clockify, run sheets, and internal tools
• Identify small improvements to workflow, safety, or efficiency
• Support continuous improvement initiatives led by the Manager
Authority of the Role
The Warehouse & Logistics Assistant Manager has delegated operational authority to:
• Run daily warehouse and logistics execution when required
• Direct team members on tasks, loading, and workflow priorities
• Pause or stop unsafe work immediately
• Escalate risks, delays, or incidents to the Manager
• Make real-time decisions within existing operational frameworks
Final accountability for strategy, staffing, and major decisions remains with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
