Our team is responsible for the planning, manufacture, certification and lifecycle management of construction tooling for Australia's first nuclear-powered submarine build.
This role requires collaboration with production, safety, ICT, procurement, and external providers to ensure tooling is safe, fit-for-purpose, and delivered in line with program milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute the construction tooling strategy and plan
* Manage tooling manufacture, certification, and lifecycle
* Ensure tooling is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with production needs
* Oversee tooling assurance, training, and compliance with safety and technical standards
* Coordinate stakeholder engagement across internal teams and external suppliers
* Ensure tooling is certified, compliant, and accepted by end users
* Maintain alignment with evolving program milestones and operational readiness
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Trade Certification with relevant industry experience
* 10+ years' experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
* Experience in defence, shipbuilding, or large-scale infrastructure projects
* Proven ability to manage tooling manufacture, procurement, certification, and maintenance
* Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and technical performance standards
* Experience with tooling tracking systems and digital asset management
* Proficient in MS Office and tooling database systems
* Eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance
Eligibility:
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level.
