Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Industrial Ventilation
Location: Shaker Heights, OH

Utilizing advanced technologies such as 3D laser scanning, we assist clients with the design and installation of extraction/collection systems in both new builds and retrofits for combustible and non-combustible dusts. Job Description:
Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
2. Project Management: Manage and oversee engineering projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
3. Analysis and Testing: Conduct detailed analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and product managers, to integrate mechanical solutions into overall product designs.
5. Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance product quality and efficiency.
7. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
Qualifications:

Technical Skills:
1. Knowledge of industrial ventilation, including designing hoods, sizing ducting, and completing static pressure calculations.
2. Understanding of combustible dust hazards and protection options.
3. Familiarity with Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) and how to conduct a DHA.
4. Knowledge of fume/ventilation collection and capture design.
5. Experience with HVAC systems.
6. Ability to model in 3D software packages such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, MEP, etc.
7. Knowledge and understanding of finite element analysis.
8. Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD Inventor.
9. Competence in using Microsoft Office suite.
Other Preferred Qualities:
1. Personable and able to work well with others (team-player).
2. Ability to travel within Canada and the USA.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
