Full-Time Sous Chef
About the Role
This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced chef to join our team in Sydney Airport.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing food preparation in our kitchen. Key responsibilities include:
* Staffing and directing your area effectively.
* Ordering food and equipment daily to satisfy production plans.
* Providing leadership and on-the-job training to lower-level staff members.
* Executing and supervising food production, packing & tray-set activities.
* Preparing complex meals or dishes to specifications provided.
* Maintaining compliance with recipe specifications.
* Monitoring labour, food costs, and shrinkage.
* Participating in developing food products and menus as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Demonstrated success in a similar role.
* Trade-qualified Chef with at least 2 years' experience in a high-volume food production environment.
* Advanced knowledge of HACCP / QSAI / Food Safety and OHS.
* Prior experience working in airline catering and service-oriented environments.
* Prior experience working in a team environment with demonstrated leadership skills.
* Good financial understanding and cost-consciousness.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
