Job Description
* Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large datasets, detect patterns and anomalies, and build predictive models that optimise mining operations and equipment performance
* Translate complex, multi-source data into clear trends, insights, and recommendations that drive informed, data‑backed business decisions
* Design and develop data models, algorithms, and analytics solutions to address operational and strategic business challenges
* Collaborate with ML Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Platform teams, and mining experts to deliver scalable data solutions and enhance asset efficiency
* Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and adoption of data‑driven actions
* Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting industry best practices in AI, machine learning, and analytics, and supporting a culture of innovation
A Successful Data Scientist Should Have
* A strong background in Data Science
* Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Python, or R.
* Experience in creating data visualisations and dashboards (Power BI, Data Factory)
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and be autonomous where needed
* Strong communication skills to present insights effectively
