About the Opportunity
The Commercial Business Partner will be based in Darwin, NT, and work on a permanent part-time contract (equivalent to 3 days per week). The successful candidate will support the Strategic Business Unit (CFM) and Regional Management teams in achieving Group revenue and profit expectations.
* Provide timely and accurate guidance to the General Accounting team to ensure month-end activities are reflected in reported results.
* Partner with primary regional teams to prepare regional plans and budgets in alignment with management guidelines and timetables, incorporating appropriate challenge and analysis.
* Partner with the CFM and RM&A to improve price yield across the Strategic Business Unit.
* Analyse trends and variances, including rate and volume analysis, to support top-line growth and prepare pricing models as required.
* Analyse and review cost analysis covering allocation, cost benefit, volume, profit, client profitability and life-cycle analysis to improve the quality of earnings.
About You
We are looking for a high-energy individual with an inquisitive, rigorous mindset and proven financial and commercial experience in a complex, diverse, multi-site business.
This role offers flexibility in working hours; you may choose to work 3 days a week or reduce daily hours to accommodate personal commitments.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities
* Experience in developing and monitoring budgets in a complex business, with business-partnering skills to influence P&L performance.
* Ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to communicate complex financial information concisely and in non-technical terms.
* Ability to implement and maintain appropriate internal/financial controls to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
* CA or CPA qualified.
* Financial knowledge around consolidation of results, financial and management accounting, audit, taxation and corporate financing.
* Working knowledge of business systems and processes to optimise and simplify business processes using technology.
