This is an exceptional opportunity to lead one of the most high-profile communications portfolios in the NSW public sector.
The Director, Media and Communications will provide expert communications leadership at both strategic and operational levels. The role offers a rare chance to shape how one of the state's most essential emergency services engages with its stakeholders—across government, media, the public and internally.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead complex, high-impact media and communication initiatives across NSW
* Work directly with senior executives and government on matters of public importance
* Influence public perception and build community trust in a fast-moving, highly visible organisation
* Drive innovation, modernise communication practices, and elevate the organisation's voice internally and externally
Requirements
* Extensive senior leadership experience in media, communications and issues management in a complex organisation and high-pressure environment
* Sound knowledge of political, social, policy and media issues impacting NSW Ambulance and the health and emergency services system
* Demonstrated experience in providing strategic advice on high-level issues, strategy and policy to senior executives
* Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, public relations or journalism, or equivalent experience
* A strong understanding of the machinery of government and political and parliamentary processes to support effective communication and build trusted relationships with Ministers' Offices, NSW Health and key stakeholders
