We're seeking an experienced Linux / Unix Engineer to join a major IT/OT transformation program within the electricity distribution sector. This is an initial 6-month contract with possibility of extension. You're expected to be on site 2 days, with 3 days in office or WFH.
This role will see you supporting approximately 500 Linux environments while also contributing to the build and uplift of a new platform. It's a hands‐on position requiring strong technical capability, particularly across Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide operational support across 500 Linux environments
* Contribute to the design, build, and deployment of a new platform
* Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise Linux/Unix systems
* Work within an IT/OT environment supporting critical infrastructure
* Engage directly with stakeholders in a fast‐paced, client‐facing setting
What You'll Bring
* Strong hands‐on Linux/Unix engineering experience
* Proven experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux is essential
* Experience supporting large‐scale Linux environments
* Exposure to IT/OT or critical infrastructure environments
* Ability to work confidently in client‐facing situations
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
