Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) currently have exciting opportunities for experienced Social Workers to join our growing team in our Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Hub. These positions will be on an ongoing basis with hours per fortnight negotiable for the successful applicants. Some weekend work across both Saturday and Sunday, may be required and is also to be negotiated with the successful applicants.
Latrobe Regional Health's Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug (MH AOD) Hub expedites and enhances the assessment, interventions and care for consumers presenting to the Emergency Department with MH AOD concerns, including co-occurring challenges. Care is provided in a purpose-built space, away from the high stimulus environment of the broader Emergency Department. The primary purpose of the MH AOD Hub Social Worker is to deliver evidence based, therapeutic interventions to MH AOD Hub consumers. Holistic care will be provided within an integrated, multi-disciplinary environment, including psychosocial interventions and facilitated linkages with community-based services according to identified consumer care needs. The MH AOD Hub Social Worker may also support the MH and AOD bed flow in the Emergency Department. Staff will be enabled to maximise their abilities in a positive, team orientated environment.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
* Recognised Bachelor degree in Social Work.
* Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Current Victorian driver's licence or eligibility for same.
* AASW Accreditation is desirable.
* Sound knowledge, skills and experience in the provision of Social Work services within relevant fields.
* Considerable experiences, skills and knowledge in the delivery of Social Work services within the Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs sector.
* Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
* Ability to complete tasks promptly and competently, demonstrating initiative with same.
