Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and suitably qualified Project Manager with experience in Defence. Director level exposure with experience in program level reporting is essential.
This role involves working under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex tasks within an integrated workforce. The Project Manager will liaise with stakeholders at all levels, building strong working relationships and serving as a point of contact for all enquiries.
Activities
1. Perform complex planning and execution of the project plan to ensure delivery of fit-for-purpose outcomes, including managing scope, schedules, risks, budgets, and resources.
2. Support the Capability Manager in developing and progressing project submissions in accordance with One Defence Capability System requirements, such as gates, reviews, and committees.
3. Coordinate Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) through high stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
4. Develop, update, and maintain project documentation, such as the Integrated Project Management Plan (iPMP).
5. Undertake project reporting using management systems like PPRIP and SPMS.
6. Identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities.
7. Provide SME guidance and mentoring to Business, Project, and Product team members.
8. Recommend and implement actions to progress work and meet business objectives, offering advice on complex issues.
9. Manage workflows and resources, and prepare team plans with measurable milestones and outcomes.
Outcomes
1. Ensure governance of the SPO’s business and achievement of objectives and milestones.
2. Contribute to the achievement of business, project, and product objectives.
3. Engage SPO personnel and clarify their responsibilities in Business, Project, and Product Management.
4. Execute project/product plans to meet outcomes within cost, schedule, and quality thresholds as per MAA/MSA PdS.
5. Deliver complex procedural, operational, administrative, and business activities supporting outcome delivery across the SPO.
6. Enhance Project Assurance Board and PMU Battle Rhythm processes.
7. Strengthen PMU coaching and mentoring of project management staff.
