Clermont Open Cut is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to support our high performing Commercial team on site. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. Reporting to the Contracts Superintendent, this role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.
In this role you will be responsible for:
The procurement of goods and services (purchasing officer duties) in accordance with Glencore Coal Assets policies and proceduresMaintaining a consistent flow of goods to the operation in line with our site requirements, contractual agreements and budgetLiaising with the internal and external customers to ensure a high level of services are maintained at all timesMonitoring supplier performance via KPI reporting and conduct regular strategic meetings with key stakeholders to monitor and improve ongoing service levelsFacilitation of weekly and monthly data for department and management reportsPreparation of Request for Tender documentationEvaluation and negotiation of quotations/tender, and the formation of contracts documentationYou will utilise the expertise and knowledge of best practice contract management to optimise procurement outcomeCoordination of the day-to-day operations of the Procurement functionSupplier Pre-Qualification administration / auditingContracts administration (ad hoc)
Requirements of the role include:
Secondary Education and/or Trade/Tertiary qualifications (Commercial/Engineering – desirable).Prior Purchasing / Procurement experiencePrevious experience in the Mining industry (highly desirable)SAP Experience (desirable)An exceptional attention to detail along with an enthusiastic and self-motivated attitudeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholdersAbility to prioritise work in a fast-paced dynamic environmentPrevious experience with SAP system (highly regarded)QLD Drivers Licence
This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practise using a hands-on approach.
