About This Opportunity
This role plays a key part in our Youth department, working with clients across Mount Isa, Normanton, and Cloncurry. It's a permanent, full-time position offering the chance to make a real difference.
We're looking for someone passionate about supporting families and youth, with experience in counselling, practitioner work, or therapeutic services.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to program planning, review, and evaluation to ensure high-quality service delivery, including accurate documentation and record-keeping.
* Manage program processes, provide support to colleagues, and maintain efficient operations.
* Deliver casework to a high standard, facilitating growth through regular case reviews, outcomes measurement, and progress reporting.
* Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve program objectives, including new staff induction and case discussion support.
* Maintain comprehensive client records, ensuring confidentiality is upheld.
* Work within a trauma-informed practice framework, using evidence-based interventions.
Requirements
* A relevant degree in social work or psychology, and at least three years' experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced trauma.
* Understanding of theoretical approaches relevant to RAIFSS and NYS, along with demonstrated experience.
* Highly developed communication skills for working with diverse client groups.
* Familiarity with issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with ability to communicate effectively and sensitively.
* Ability to assess risks and collaborate with management to ensure client safety.
* Strong organisational, time management, and administrative skills.
* A current open driver's licence and Working with Children Blue Card check are required.
