Brisbane Boys' College is an established GPS day and boarding school founded in 1902, dedicated to developing boys into worthy leaders and good citizens. Located just four kilometres from Brisbane's centre, we educate students from Prep to Year 12. 
About the Role 
The Visual Art Aide provides essential resource and administrative support to the College's Visual Art program, spanning Junior and Secondary Schools from Prep to Year 12. This role is fixed-term, part-time, starting 7 October and ending 3 December 2025. 
About you 
You are enthusiastic, organised, and enjoy working in a creative, hands-on environment. With an eye for detail and a passion for supporting arts education, you are comfortable working collaboratively with teaching staff and independently on set tasks. You are proactive, reliable, and adaptable, with the ability to take direction while contributing positively to the wider College community. 
Key Responsibilities 
Classroom Maintenance: 
Perform daily, weekly and end of term cleaning, organising and tidying; replenish general resources as needed. 
Resources: 
Support resource ordering processes as requested by the Head of Department – The Arts or their delegate and Art Aide Coordinator; unpack and check orders on arrival and store materials; stocktake – ongoing; clean and organise storage area; transport resources and projects between storage and classrooms; support cover teachers in accessing resources within the classroom as requested by the regular teacher. 
Ceramics: 
Organise firing, load and unload kiln; clean and organise kiln room; progressively transport work to kiln room for firing. 
Exhibitions: 
In Term 4, BBC runs its annual College Art Show. Assist with exhibition tasks including mounting and framing artwork, making name tags, filing and storing artwork, and assisting in hanging and installing displays. 
Activities: 
At teacher's request, assist and support use of resources inside the classroom and on excursions. 
Administration Support: 
File and organise student work for assessment purposes; assist in photographing, scanning and printing artwork for documentation; scan, photocopy and/or print teaching resources; assist in the collection of materials from suppliers. 
Skills and Capabilities 
Productive and effective communication and IT skills 
Ability to take direction and follow instructions 
Willingness to actively support the College's traditions and Christian ethos 
Qualifications and Experience 
Experience and interest in art 
Experience in an educational setting is desirable 
All non-teaching staff must hold a current blue card for working with children 
Mandatory requirements 
Adhere to the PMSA Code of Conduct 
Comply with College policies, procedures and training requirements, including those related to occupational health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality 
Positively support the College's traditions and Christian ethos 
Hold a current blue card or be eligible to obtain a blue card for working with children
