The Opportunity

The role, put simply, is quite a technical one within a multifaceted, corporate finance team and reports directly to the Group Reporting Manager. Managing the financial consolidation of 8-10 diverse operating entities during periods of rapid growth, navigating all trajectories of scaling and integration, the need for consolidated financial data is more critical than ever.

As the core operation for the group's financial integrity, it is of high expectation that the complex operational data is accurately mapped out, allowing for executive decision making and external reporting. This role in particular offers quite a unique vantage point being that it provides exposure to financial mechanics of operations and the opportunity to refine systems that support it.

What You'll Do

Being a critical member of the corporate finance team, it is your responsibility to deliver the accurate and timely consolidated financial information. Focusing on the more technical side, managing statutory obligations and ensuring that the entity's reporting framework is insightful and compliant.

* Manage the end-to-end monthly consolidation process for 8-10 entities, utilising consolidation tools to ensure data integrity and the timely elimination of intercompany transactions.
* Prepare the half-year and annual statutory financial statements for the Group, ensuring strict compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant regulations.
* Act as a primary point of contact for the external audit process, preparing workpapers, managing queries,and ensuring a smooth and efficient partnership with auditors.
* Manage the preparation of covenant calculations and reporting requirements for banking partners and lenders, ensuring transparency and compliance with facility agreements.
* Oversee the Group's tax compliance obligations, including the preparation and review of income tax returns,FBT, BAS, and calculations for Deferred Tax Assets and Liabilities.
* Assist in the preparation of high-quality monthly financial board packs and management reports that provide clear visibility on performance to the Executive Team and Board.
* Assist the Group's insurance portfolio, including the annual renewal process, maintaining schedules, and handling ad-hoc queries.
* Proactively identify opportunities to streamline the consolidation and reporting cycle, leveraging consolidation tools to automate workflows and reduce manual handling.

What You'll Bring

Ideally the right candidate will be a detail oriented, technically strong accountant who is comfortable working in a complex, multi-entity environment. Presenting professionally and valuing accuracy and integrity with the ability to communicate the financial concepts clearly to all valued stakeholders.

* CA/CPA qualification supported by a relevant degree in Commerce or Business.
* Demonstrated experience with financial consolidation in a multi-entity or group environment. Experience within the manufacturing, industrial, or defence sectors is advantageous but not essential.
* Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax legislation. Experience using consolidation software or similar CPM/consolidation software is highly regarded, along with advanced Excel skills.
* Proven experience managing the external audit process and drafting statutory financial statements.
* The ability to build effective relationships with finance teams across various subsidiaries and communicate clearly with senior management.
