Western’s School of Social Sciences has two exciting opportunities within the Centre for Community Research Collaboration for Social Work Field Educators to join the team.1. Social Work Field Educator (Student Focus) – Full-time In this position, you will play a crucial role in managing placement projects and providing social work supervision to students engaged in their field education at the Centre. You will work closely with community project partners, social work supervisors, University Liaison Tutors, and students to ensure that both project and student learning outcomes are achieved. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and developing social work placement projects with community partners, guiding students through their field education experience, and maintaining effective relationships with external organisations. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with the University's policies and procedures and the accreditation guidelines of the social work and communities programs.2. Social Work Field Educator (Operations Focus) – Part-Time, 21 hours per week. In this role, you will be responsible for managing placement projects and coordinating social work supervision for students at the Centre. You will provide practice supervision to all field educators, ensuring they have the support needed to guide students effectively. Your duties will include planning and developing social work placement projects with community partners, managing these projects to meet both student learning outcomes and partner expectations, and ensuring that the Centre’s practice education content is responsive to the needs of field educators, students, and community partners. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external organisations and ensuring compliance with the University's policies and procedures and the accreditation guidelines of the social work and communities programs.Both positions will be based at Parramatta South Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.About YouYou are an experienced social worker eligible for AASW membership, with at least five years of post-qualifying experience. You have supervised social work students and understand placement requirements. You excel in procuring and assessing placement opportunities, planning, and monitoring students and field educators in non-traditional models. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and build productive relationships.
