Responsibilities Report to the Chief Legal and Sustainability Officer and deliver expert legal guidance across GeelongPort.
Provide legislative interpretation, tendering, legal construction advice, leases and licences, contracts, dispute resolution, commercial transactions, brand and intellectual property rights, occupational health and safety, insurance and liability matters.
Embed robust governance practices and ensure compliance with board requirements.
Represent the organisation at mediation and external forums and prepare high-quality board papers with the Company Secretary.
Engage as an effective business partner with operations, commercial teams and external contractors, delivering accurate and timely legal advice.
Qualifications Formal tertiary legal qualification and current Practising Certificate as an Australian lawyer.
Experience in highly complex commercial operating environments with expertise in legislative interpretation and commercial contract negotiation.
Ability to partner with all areas of a business from operations to commercial, including capital works projects.
Strong relationship-building with diverse stakeholders, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask with a strategic mindset.
