This temporary position is located in Rocky Mount - Edgecombe County. There are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Visit for employment information.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay:
$16.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)
This temporary position will be assigned to the NC Department of Public Safety, Juvenile Justice Division. The Educational Development Assistant /Substitute Teacher / Teacher Asst role will spend time covering classes and or assisting teachers in specific subject areas, preparing instructional materials, coordinating classroom activities and following lesson plans. Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson plans, providing classroom instruction, facilitating on-line classes and HiSET coursework, recording behavior and academic progress notes. This position will work collaboratively with subject matter teachers to provide instructional services to students. Candidate will provide student feedback through progress notes. Work hours are 7:30 am until 3:30 pm.

Management Prefers Applicants With The Following
* Basic knowledge of MS Word, PPT, Excel and Outlook. Ability to manage small group activities.
* Ability to work with diverse youth population.
* Ability to establish rapport with students in the program and their families.
* Ability to follow/implement teacher lesson plans.
* Ability to provide an environment favorable to learning.
Minimum Education And Experience

Minimum Education and Experience High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of experience working with students in an educational environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
