Overview
Zenviron is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Newcastle-based Engineering team, with a primary focus on power system studies for large-scale wind and BESS projects.
In this role you will contribute to the design and delivery of utility-scale wind farm and BESS projects, lead key power system studies, and support grid connection and broader design outcomes. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
* Analyse and interpret project documentation, including scopes of work, specifications, planning approvals, and network connection requirements.
* Develop and maintain power system models and undertake power system studies including insulation coordination, TRV, lightning and switching, transformer inrush, load flow, and short circuit.
* Prepare and review technical calculations, modelling assessments, and engineering reports to support project design, meet grid connection requirements, and comply with relevant standards.
* Respond to technical queries, requests for information, and stakeholder comments.
* Support project design development and the delivery of engineering documentation.
* Coordinate engineering inputs with project teams, consultants, and relevant stakeholders, providing guidance and recommendations to achieve best outcomes for projects.
Qualifications
* Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, holding or eligible for CPEng and state-based professional registration (e.g. RPEQ, RPEV).
* Experience undertaking power system studies using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and either PSCAD (preferred) or EMTP for utility, transmission, or renewable energy projects.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality outputs.
* Good written and verbal communication skills for technical stakeholder engagement.
* Full working rights in Australia.
