The Role

The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for decades to come.

The Planning Capability Officer manages Mutual Logistics Support requests, Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreement transactions, ensuring compliance, risk management and performance reporting. The role coordinates stakeholders across AUKUS partner nations and Australian Government agencies, oversees financial and quality assurance processes, and drives continuous improvement through lessons learned, training and guidance to strengthen capability outcomes.

This is a Canberra based role, however WA candidates will be considered. A merit pool will be established to fill future logistics family roles..

Our ideal candidates will bring the following attributes and skills to the role:

* Has demonstrated experience managing Mutual Logistics Support (MLS) activities and/or Agreement and Arrangements (A&As, eg the Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreement), with a strong focus on compliance and risk management.
* Builds and maintains effective working relationships with international partners and Australian Government stakeholders.
* Brings sound financial acumen, including cost assurance, invoicing coordination and accurate record keeping.
* Applies quality assurance principles, including gathering and managing Objective Quality Evidence to support accountability.
* Is proactive in continuous improvement, with the ability to capture lessons learned, refine processes and deliver training or guidance to build capability.
Eligibility

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
