Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and committed Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician to join our specialist medical team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across our Health Service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality specialist medical care in the diagnosis, treatment and management of respiratory and sleep disorders across the service.
Contribute to the delivery of safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care through clinical leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration and participation in quality improvement, teaching and research activities.
Support the development and advancement of respiratory and sleep medicine services within the Health Service, ensuring contemporary practice, service sustainability and improved health outcomes for the community.
Employment Details
Permanent full-time role (80 hours per fortnight); however, the Health Service may consider permanent part-time arrangements with negotiable hours for the right candidate.
Opportunity for private practice: Senior Medical Only.
The successful candidate may establish private practice outside their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals.
What we're looking for
Previous work experience within an acute teaching hospital environment.
Proven ability to work in a collegiate partnership with other clinicians, nursing staff and managers.
Ability to provide clinical leadership and to facilitate multidisciplinary teamwork.
Maintenance of a clinical, academic appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with a current annual practising certificate.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and maintenance of CPD and good standing.
Specialist registrants preferred; non-specialists or overseas trained specialists considered where progression toward fellowship is demonstrated.
All relevant qualifications submitted to AHPRA for inclusion on their website, providing evidence of qualification and submitted within sufficient time to enable the awarding of Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) prior to commencement.
All applicants must be awarded Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) by the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP committee; completion of this process must be prior to commencement.
Competitive Benefits
Base pay range: A$197,******/yr – A$528,******/yr.
Competitive remuneration package up to $528,085 p.a., salary between $197,063 – $288,584 p.a., employer superannuation contribution up to *****%, annual leave loading 17.5%.
