North Bondi RSL Club is more than just a hospitality venue, we're a cornerstone of the Bondi community, offering exceptional dining, service, and experiences in one of Sydney's most iconic coastal locations. As we continue to grow and evolve the group, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our people strategy and foster a high-performing, values-driven workplace culture.
Role Purpose
As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for the full scope of HR operations across our Club, supporting a diverse team that drives the guest experience from front-of-house to back-of-house. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about people, performance, and continuous improvement.
You will lead the implementation of our human resources initiatives, ensuring we not only meet legislative compliance but also build a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture built on our values of service, courage, respect, integrity and excellence. From recruitment to onboarding, training, policy development, employee engagement, and day-to-day support, you'll play a critical role in shaping the Club's employee experience.
Location:
Based at our stunning venue on Bondi Beach, with flexibility for occasional off-site work. Enjoy working by the ocean, close to public transport, cafes, and the heart of Sydney's coastal lifestyle.
About You
Strategic & Hands-On – You can craft and execute a clear HR strategy that aligns with operational goals while also getting into the detail of day-to-day HR activities.
Hospitality HR Knowledge – You understand award interpretation, rostering impacts, and the fast-paced nature of hospitality staffing.
Employment Law Expertise – Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, modern awards, workplace compliance, and HR best practices.
People First Mindset – You lead with empathy, foster strong relationships, and build trust across all levels of the organisation.
Strong Communicator – You're confident working with senior management, floor staff, and external partners, and can simplify complex policies for everyday application.
Project & Program Management – Proven experience running L&D programs, performance cycles, and staff engagement initiatives within deadlines and budgets.
Problem Solver – Capable of handling sensitive people issues with discretion and professionalism, resolving challenges with clarity and fairness.
Team Builder – You've led small HR or people teams, and enjoy mentoring and developing others to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
