Job Description
The role of Communications Officer is a key position in supporting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Western Australia. As a creative professional, you will be responsible for developing engaging media content that promotes health education and positive outcomes in these communities.
This involves working closely with the Graphics and Social Media Coordinator to manage day-to-day social media content, capturing photography and videography at events, designing promotional material, and contributing to broader communications strategies.
You will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in areas such as photography and video, illustration, social media management, and graphic design.
In this role, you will also work with Derbarl's Clinical Service teams to create supporting materials using creative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the Graphics and Social Media Coordinator on a social media content & strategy ensuring posts are culturally safe and attractive to the Aboriginal audience.
* Provide design support to the Graphics and Social Media Coordinator on print and digital projects.
* Attend official and community events as Photographer and manage the Derbarl photo database.
* Using creative solutions to work with Derbarl's Clinical Service teams to create supporting materials.
* Engaging with various communication channels and ensuring messaging; print, signage & web content is up-to-date.
Requirements
* Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander pursuant to Section 50D of the Equal Employment Opportunities Act (Essential).
* Satisfactory National Police Clearance.
* Valid Drivers' License and willingness to travel as required.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
