Product Managers are full-time advocates within, or working closely with, an Agile Release Train (ART). They represent two key stakeholder groups, the business and the client and most notably own the product backlog. The Product Manager is a key representative in several program level events, such as Program Increment Planning, Showcase, Inspect and Adapt sessions and ART Sync, as well as contributing or leading larger Program activities such as Program Management Group (PMG) meetings, prioritisation, and reporting. While not responsible for the work at hand, the Product Manager is responsible for advocating for business priorities and customer experience and then ensuring that the most value is obtained within each Program Increment and over the course of time that aligns with their Product Vision and Product Roadmap. Product Managers work closely with the Product Owners or equivalent (e.g., PPG) in their ART's teams and other key stakeholders to ensure work is feasible, broken down and prioritised based on the value it will bring to the end client and the business.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Services to include, but not limited to, the following:
* Understands and champions client needs by performing customer experience and research activities including market research, client interviews, creating personas, and customer experience mapping.
* Works with stakeholders to understand the business objectives and define the Product Vision, including capturing the phases in a Product Roadmap document.
* Works with Product Owners to break down Epics into Features and Enablers as needed. Prioritises Features and Enablers using the Weighted Shortest Job First method and ensures the highest priority Features and Enablers have been elaborated to meet the Definition of Ready.
* Works with the Program Management Group to get Features and Enablers and their prioritisation endorsed.
* Develops product propositions and determines product positioning and variants for different customer and user segments.
* Drives program stages as a key member of program level events, including Program Increment Planning, Showcases, and Inspect and Adapt sessions.
* Accepts or rejects features and enablers completed by the Agile team based on the acceptance criteria, Definition of Done and alignment with policies and standards.
* Primary liaison between the Agile Release Train (ART) and the business, representing the ART to stakeholders.
Essential criteria
* 1. Extensive experience (5+ years' experience) working with the Program Management Group and Business Stakeholders to get Features and Enablers and their prioritisation endorsed.
* Demonstrated ability to manage the full product life cycle to ensure that customer/user needs are met and that financial and other targets are achieved. Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate product development methods, tools, and techniques.
* Demonstrated ability to Initiate creation of new products and services or identify adaptation of existing products to develop new opportunities for business.
* Extensive experience and expertise to showcase newly developed products and services to executive, business stakeholders and end users.
Desirable criteria
* 1. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and capacity to communicate and work effectively within a multi-disciplined and blended team environment.
* Experience in Coordinating customer testing and product launches and supports communications and training along with ability to anticipates changes in customer/user needs
* Experience and knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) product and services
* Relevant qualifications/certification/accreditation (for each of the specific roles defined)
Pay: $125.00 – $150.00 per hour
