The role of Senior Plant Breeder Rights Leader is a strategic position that oversees the examination section, comprising 15 staff members. As part of the core leadership team, the incumbent supports the Registrar of Plant Breeder's Rights and senior executives in managing end-to-end processes to achieve corporate objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced senior leader who can manage complexity, inspire a sense of purpose, and deliver quality customer service outcomes. You will lead a recognized senior leader position within IP Australia, responsible for all examination workforce production, quality, wellbeing, capability uplift, budgeting, and reporting. Key Responsibilities
* Providing effective administration of PBR in accordance with the Plant Breeder's Rights Act and International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) standards.
* Leading teams to support performance and realize corporate objectives.
* Performing statutory functions as Deputy Registrar of Plant Breeder's Rights and exercising appropriate powers and authority under the Plant Breeder's Rights Act (Cth).
* Ensuring high-quality customer service delivery meeting performance expectations in a legislative environment.
You will drive continuous improvement in practices and processes to maintain alignment with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will contribute to shaping policy, standards, and strategic direction across the PBR landscape, ensuring effective administration and advancement of intellectual property rights in Australia. You will develop relationships and engage with domestic and international stakeholders, representing IP Australia and the General Manager. Overseeing business operations and workflow processes, you will contribute to workforce planning and optimize resources to support operational needs. Lastly, you will lead data stewardship, management, and analysis to inform decision-making.
