Business Development Executive | Specialist Equipment Hire Melbourne | Full time or part time | Flexible working A well established specialist equipment hire business supporting the environmental and infrastructure market is looking to appoint a Business Development Executive to drive growth across Melbourne and Victoria. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, getting out with clients, and growing a customer base through trust and follow through rather than hard selling. The business has built its reputation through strong service, responsiveness, and repeat hire relationships. With the market becoming more competitive, they are now investing in a dedicated client growth hire to strengthen market presence and expand into new regions over time. The opportunity This role is ideal for either: A mid level candidate stepping up into a dedicated business development position (training and support provided) An experienced BD or sales professional looking for a flexible role, including part time hours, with a down to earth team You’ll work closely with the General Manager and operations team, taking ownership of building a consistent pipeline and converting opportunities into long term customers. Key responsibilities Develop and grow relationships with new and existing clients across Melbourne and Victoria Identify opportunities with environmental consultancies, contractors and project teams Re engage customers currently using competitors and position the business as their preferred hire partner Meet clients on site where required to understand needs and recommend the right hire solutions Build and maintain a simple, consistent BD rhythm including pipeline management, follow ups, account planning and repeat hire strategy Work closely with internal operations to ensure a smooth customer experience from enquiry through to delivery Support longer term growth plans into NSW and SA About you Experience in business development, account management, client services or consultative sales OR a strong customer facing professional ready to step into a true growth focused role Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with decision makers Technically minded and comfortable learning equipment and applications quickly (training provided) Organised, proactive, and consistent with follow ups A friendly, calm and collaborative style suited to a small team environment Experience in equipment hire, environmental services, construction, engineering, utilities, or infrastructure is beneficial but not essential.
