Flinders University's College of Science and Engineering is seeking an internationally recognised research leader in AI-Driven Software Engineering to provide strategic academic leadership in advanced software engineering. This role offers the opportunity to drive world‐class research, secure competitive external grants, supervise research students, deliver outstanding teaching, and mentor colleagues. You will also build strategic collaborations across the University, industry, and international partners to strengthen the College's research and teaching impact.
Responsibilities
* Provide internationally recognised research leadership in AI-Driven Software Engineering and related advanced software systems domains.
* Establish, build and lead a world-class research and teaching group.
* Secure and lead major competitive national and international research funding.
* Publish sustained high‐impact research in leading discipline journals and top‐tier international conference proceedings.
* Supervise doctoral candidates to completion and expand the HDR cohort in strategically aligned research areas.
* Lead major interdisciplinary research initiatives aligned with College and University priorities.
* Provide strategic leadership across the computing discipline, shaping curriculum direction to align with emerging technologies and industry needs.
* Deliver outstanding, research‐informed teaching in advanced software engineering and AI-enabled systems.
* Foster strong collaborative partnerships across the University, industry, government and international institutions.
Qualifications
* Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification, in an area of computing relevant to software engineering or closely aligned computing discipline.
* A distinguished international research reputation, evidenced by sustained publication in top-tier journals and premier conference venues.
* A proven track record of research and securing significant competitive research funding at national and/or international level.
* Demonstrated capacity to establish and lead a high‐performing research group.
* Strategic academic leadership experience, including shaping research agendas and curriculum innovation.
* Excellence in HDR supervision and academic mentorship.
* Outstanding teaching and educational leadership, including curriculum development, innovative delivery, and mentoring of colleagues.
