Lead the NEW Peach Tree Team in Cairns, building and overseeing the delivery of peer-led psychosocial supports

Permanent | Part-Time 32 Hours

Are you passionate about supporting parents, partners and families on their journey through pregnancy and early parenthood? Do you have strong leadership skills, an understanding of perinatal mental health, and a desire to lead and inspire a team of peer workers? If so, we'd love to hear from you

Peach Tree is expanding across Queensland, and we're looking for a dedicated Regional Leader to support a team of Lived Experience Peer Workers. In this newly created role, you will lead a small team in providing a trauma informed, welcoming, non-judgemental and child friendly environment for mothers, fathers and caregivers to connect, discuss and address perinatal mental health and parenting challenges freely and openly. The Regional Leader reports directly to the Regional Manager.

This is a permanent part-time (32 hours) opportunity, with an hourly rate of $51 + superannuation. We know flexibility matters and are open to working with you to find hours that fit your life, within the Monday–Friday work week. There may occasionally be evening or Saturday work, but this will be the exception rather than the rule.

Why This Role is Unique

* Lead with Lived Experience: Your lived experience expertise will not only guide your work but inspire your team and the parents you support.
* Flexible & supportive team: Part-time hours, training, professional development and an Employee Assistance Program to support your professional growth and personal wellbeing. We also offer salary sacrificing.
* Shape new networks: You will be a part of Peach Tree's exciting expansion plans, establishing and maintaining brand new peer-led services in the region.

What You'll Do

* Lead & Empower: Guiding a team of Lived Experience Peer Workers, providing mentorship, reflective practice, and leadership to ensure high-quality service delivery. You'll also be responsible for building a positive and inclusive team culture that aligns with Peach Tree's values.
* Deliver services: Lead the delivery of mental health peer support groups; parenting programs; psychosocial education, in 1:1 and group settings to help parents heal and build resilience.
* Build Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with healthcare professionals and community organisations to build referral pathways and meet regional priorities.
* Support Growth: Encourage engagement from expecting parents/parents who may have barriers to access supports, offering a supportive environment for parents to find their village and feel better supported in their parenting confidence.

What We're Looking For

* Lived experience of perinatal mental health challenges related to becoming a Parent and/or parenting in early parenthood period (0-5 years), accompanied by experiences of service use and personal healing
* Previous experience working in an Identified Lived Experience role, and familiarity with National and State Lived Experience Frameworks and Guidelines
* Experience leading or supervising a team, ideally in a mental health setting with a peer workforce
* A relevant qualification (such as the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Intentional Peer Support) would be considered favourably
* Knowledge of local perinatal mental health services; parenting supports; the community sectors and existing organisations and services in the region
* Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, applying a solution focused and growth mindset to create positive and productive workplace culture
* Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) (or willingness to obtain) and Whooping Cough vaccinations
