The Client:
InterGrain is a highly respected and globally recognised national plant breeding organisation. They provide crucial research and innovation for the agricultural supply chain including growers and end-users. With a commitment to providing the best crop genetics for every Australian farm through collaboration and innovation in barley, wheat and oat breeding.
As part of InterGrain’s continued commercial expansion, the group will be moving to a newly built headquarters in Forrestdale in 2026 and expanding into new crops. This is a rare opportunity to be part of the executive team and to help make a significant contribution to InterGrain’s ongoing commercial development and strategic direction.
The Opportunity:
Working in close partnership with the CEO, the CFO will be a critical member of the executive leadership team. Engaging regularly with the Board of Directors, the CFO will drive a comprehensive financial management plan ensuring the group’s ongoing expansion and commercial success. This will include the responsibility for periodic financial and management reporting, shared services and commercial strategy execution. As part of this, the role will include team leadership, liaising with external auditors, tax, internal controls, risk and cashflow management, preparation of Board Papers, working closely with the Audit and Risk Committee due diligence and financial modelling responsibilities.
Key Requirements:
To be considered for this key leadership position, candidates will ideally demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* Experience working closely with a CEO on strategy, business performance and profitability
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance including CA or CPA (essential)
* Leadership and communication skills
* Exposure to M+A, due diligence tax reporting and financial modelling
* Commercial experience preferred
* Experience with IT, HR and WHS, highly regarded
* A keen interest in the Australian grains sector
