The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Barossa / Gawler team as a Social Worker in a Part time (0.9 FTE), ongoing basis .
The CaFHS Social Worker works as part of a multidisciplinary team to improve the early identification, assessment and care planning for families with complex needs and facing adversity. This role works with parents who face challenges through the provision of individual counselling, advocacy and support. Encouraging the best use of individual and family strengths and resources by working in partnerships with the caregiver/family to:
1. Increase coping skills
2. Better develop problem solving skills
3. Feel positive about their future
4. Gain a better understanding of where to seek resources/information in the future.
About You
To be eligible to apply you must have an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
To be successful in this role you need to be able to undertake comprehensive psychosocial assessment of families with young children utilising contemporary best practice frameworks. Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating complex interventions including group work aimed at addressing psychosocial need in families with children aged 0 to 3 years, is essential.
If you have proven experience in and knowledge of Family intervention principles, methodologies and techniques, an understanding of the effects of child abuse and current preventative approaches and the major social and health issues facing mothers, fathers and children, then this role is for you.
