Overview
Registered Nurse – Child and Family Health working with NSW Health, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Location: North Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. This is a temporary parental leave relief position until 30 August 2026 with the possibility of extension at the same or reduced hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care and support to children and families in the community as part of the Child & Family Health Service.
- Engage with families, staff and other health services; support the implementation of the First 2000 Days program.
- Collaborate with CFHN leadership, Clinical Nurse Educators & Clinical Nurse Consultants; participate in orientation, clinical catch-ups and regular case reviews.
- Contribute to maintaining a healthy workplace culture and work with families with complex health and social issues, with exposure to trauma as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Child & Family Health Nursing qualifications or demonstrated enrolment in a Child & Family Health course with plans to gain qualifications within 12 months of starting employment.
- Applied vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Valid NSW Driver’s Licence.
Conditions and Benefits
Hourly rate: $36.38 – $51.08 per hour + 12% superannuation and salary packaging. Employment type: Temporary Part Time (24 hours per week).
Location: Illawarra Child Development Centre. Applications close: 9 October 2025.
