About the role
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) is seeking an experienced family lawyer to deliver high-quality legal services to clients experiencing family law and family violence, including intervention order matters. In this role, you will manage complex casework, represent clients in court, and appear as a duty lawyer in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including through the Family Advocacy and Support Services (FASS) project. You will also provide supervision, mentoring and training to junior lawyers, contributing to a supportive and collaborative team environment.

About you
* Strong knowledge and practical experience in family law and family violence, including intervention order matters and relevant court processes.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers.
* High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective professional relationships and communicate confidently with clients, courts and stakeholders.
* A current unrestricted Australian practicing certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
* Entitled to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction (entry on the High Court's Register of Practitioners) (mandatory).
