AUD 138463 - 140000 per annum, $138,463 + 15.5% An agency committed to accelerating carbon abatement seeks a talented financial reporting leader to support its Finance Section. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and leads a team that delivers monthly and annual financial statements, compliance under the PGPA Act, and external reporting to bodies such as the Department of Finance and ANAO. Key responsibilities Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Accounting Standards, PGPA Act, Estimates Memoranda and departmental guidance Provide technical accounting advice, position papers, management and audit committee reports Coordinate audit requests (external and internal) and maintain strong relationships with Department of Finance policy units and ANAO Ensure sound asset management practices and internal financial controls Lead, mentor, and support a small team to uphold high standards, timeliness, accuracy, and continuous improvement Skills and experience required CA or CPA qualification or post‑graduate qualification in Commerce, Finance or related field (desirable) Strong experience in preparing monthly and annual financial statements in a governmental/public sector context Knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework, PGPA Act, Budget Management Systems and Accounting Standards Demonstrated stakeholder relationship management, especially with Department of Finance and ANAO Strong written/verbal communication skills; ability to provide accurate specialist advice Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timeframes with sound judgement This is an opportunity to shape financial reporting practices at a clean energy regulator agency, influencing transparency, compliance and impact.
