**Individual Support Traineeship - Community Support Worker**

***Role Purpose**:
To provide individual support to clients, utilising experience, qualifications, and best practice within a community setting. Support a diverse range of service users. These include but are not limited to people with a physical, intellectual and/or psychosocial disability, our local ageing community, and private clients. It is expected that our community support workers adapt and use their skill set to support an extensive range of service users within home and community settings.
**Community Support Worker Responsibilities**:
The position is responsible for assisting and supporting people to remain living safely in their home and community. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Assistance with personal and self-care tasks
- Light domestic tasks
- Assistance with grocery shopping, meal preparation, paying bills and attending appointments.
- Social and community support
- Implementing skill development and person-centred plans.
- Perform tasks of a sensitive nature including collection and provision of personal and sensitive information such as financial and accounting. Requiring the exercise of sound judgement, initiative, confidentiality, and sensitivity in the performance of work.
Employees in this position are responsible for initiating and maintaining a professional standard of communication with a broad range of individuals to ensure client needs are met. These may include, but are not limited to other employees, external providers, family members, advocates, medical and allied health professionals, and the wider community.
