Blake Oliver Consulting has been engaged to appoint a General Manager to lead Federal Government sales for a globally recognised consulting and technology firm. Based in Canberra, this senior appointment will take ownership of a maturing federal portfolio and lead the next phase of growth across departments and agencies.
This is a visible, client-facing role with direct accountability for strategic account planning, pipeline development, and relationship management at the executive level. You'll be expected to drive growth across areas such as cyber security, cloud, digital, and national infrastructure, working in partnership with senior internal stakeholders and delivery leads.

Key Responsibilities
Federal Account Leadership & Growth Strategy
* Lead the Federal Government sales agenda from Canberra
* Manage and grow a portfolio of customers, each in the range of ~$10–15M+ with clear pathways for expansion
* Drive account strategy and develop trusted relationships at SES and C-level
* Translate government priorities into addressable growth opportunities
Opportunity Management & Deal Structuring
* Originate, shape, and close strategic opportunities across cyber, digital, and infrastructure programs
* Navigate complex procurement frameworks and lead end-to-end pursuits
* Collaborate with delivery and consulting leads to structure viable, value-led solutions
Internal Collaboration & Enablement
* Influence national account planning and sector strategy from a federal lens
* Champion the voice of the federal customer within the business
* Work with internal capability owners to align offerings to public sector needs
What You Bring
* Proven background in Federal Government sales or strategic account leadership
* Experience managing large portfolios within tech, consulting, or SI environments
* Deep knowledge of Commonwealth procurement, panels, and stakeholder navigation
* Strong executive presence and ability to lead client-facing strategy
* Commercial acumen paired with delivery fluency and public sector credibility
