About the Position on Offer
It is a Site based DIDO/FIFO role, and you should be based in QLD. As the HSE Manager, you will be a trusted advisor to the Project Manager and a key leader across the project environment.
Main responsibilities include
* Lead the implementation and continual improvement of UGL's HSE management systems
* Drive a strong safety culture across project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
* Provide expert guidance on legislation, standards, risk, and compliance
* Oversee incident investigations, audits, HSSE documentation and reporting
* Develop HSSE improvement plans, KPIs and business unit targets
* Support return‐to‐work processes and injury management
* Engage with clients, regulators and third‐party bodies to ensure compliance and best practice
* Lead and mentor site‐based HSE teams, fostering capability and performance
The successful candidate will require
* Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or similar
* 10+ years' experience in HSEQ across construction, infrastructure or heavy industry
* Strong knowledge of WHS, environmental and workers compensation legislation
* Demonstrated experience implementing safety management systems
* Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 31000
* Incident investigation and internal/external auditor training
* Cert IV in Training & Assessment (preferred)
* Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
