General Gardener Role
The Resort’s external area is the guest’s first impression of Club Tropical Resort Darwin. Our lush gardens and external areas of cleanliness need to maintenance to make sure the level of cleanliness is consistent and a positive one. Each guest that visits need to leave with a positive image of our Resort. You are responsible for ensuring we provide the highest level of positive feedback and that our standards are met and maintained at all times. With a combination of a passion for the job and the right communication with your supervisor, you have the ability and empowerment to make the guest’s experience more than memorable. A General Gardener employee must have a positive and professional upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests.
Duties:
Take directions from In charge who has organised work schedule on a daily basis dependent on urgency
Dispose of all rubbish to Shoal Bay Recycle Centre on a daily basis
Mow grassed areas as required, more regularly in wet season
Maintain green spaces
Clean and weed areas as required
Trim, tree cutting and pruning as required
Maintain minor irrigation repairs as required
Apply chemical and organic herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers as required
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisor or Director
Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms
Follow all company safety and security procedures
Observe and report damage of Club Tropical property
Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledge of or desire to learn gardening techniques and methods
Knowledge of use of various chemicals
Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 15 kgs)
