Regional Development Australia Coordinator * Salary: $116,413 - $140,849(Plus Superannuation) * Fixed term until 13 August 2027 * Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) * Usual work location: Latrobe Valley GovHub (65 Church Street, Morwell VIC 3840) (flexibility may be available) The Role Reporting to the Manager, Regional Development – West Gippsland, the Regional Development Australia Coordinator plays a key role in providing operational support, strategic advice and regional intelligence on regional development opportunities, government objectives, investment and policies for and on behalf of the local RDA Committee to support clients, stakeholders and community. The RDA Coordinator will provide event coordination project management, stakeholder liaison and prepare high quality, well researched correspondence, reports, papers, plans, memoranda, and briefings with clear and concise recommendations for the committee's consideration. A focus of the role is to support economic development opportunities and to support engagement with Commonwealth Departments and leveraging of Commonwealth programs. Main accountabilities: * Lead and/or coordinate with project partners the development and delivery of regional programs and projects as outlined by the Regional Development Australia Committee, and in line with local and regional plans, government policy and community needs; including identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities to enhance program and project outcomes. * Lead and/or support integrated investment in place by bringing together key internal and external stakeholders and partners by developing and maintaining strategic relationships and networks with Federal, State and local government, community organisations, business, industry, and sector teams across government to identify economic opportunities in the region. * Manage the delivery a range of economic development initiatives, activities and events and appropriate government assistance for businesses and communities, utilising an understanding of regional economies, workforce, geography, stakeholders, transport links and other critical issues. * Provide operational support, strategic and analytical advice and regional intelligence on regional development opportunities, government objectives, investment and policies for and on behalf of the RDA Committee to support clients, stakeholders and community working closely with branch colleagues and the broader group. The Team The position of Regional Development Australia Coordinator forms a part of the Gippsland branch within the Regional Development Victoria group. We work with businesses, communities and across government to deliver economic growth, create jobs, build resilience, and support economic recovery in our regions. We have a strong role in activating networks; building partnerships; realising outcomes that boost local economic and community resilience; and bringing the lived experience of communities into government decision making. In delivering our portfolio priorities, we work closely with parts of government given the many synergies and linkages with other priorities across government. About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: * Specialist Expertise: Sound understanding of the key industry and economic drivers, and knowledge of State and Federal Government policies and programs, current and emerging trends specifically related to rural and regional communities, industry and the economy, including the issues and factors affecting and influencing social and economic growth, development and capacity to engage in the local economy. * Project Management: Consults, liaises with and influences key stakeholders; produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; monitors performance against objectives and manages project risks and issues; ensures project objectives are met. * Stakeholder Management: Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses this knowledge to build mutually beneficial partnerships; identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs; uses understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved; find innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues. * Conceptual and Analytical Skills: High level conceptual and analytical skills, ability to apply complex concepts to program development and translating concepts to operational activities and strong issue analysis and resolution skills.
