About the role The primary focus of the position is to respond to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and privacy issues and work with both internal and external customers to ensure Parks Victoria meets our legislative obligations. This entails engaging with employees across Parks Victoria, external stakeholders, negotiating with applicants, collating and assessing documents, making decisions under the FOI Act and assisting executives to provide briefings for ministers on FOI matters as required. The Senior FOI and Privacy Advisor will act on all stages of FOI from intake, assessment, redacting documents, consultations with internal employees, other agencies and members of the public and assisting with the preparation of planned decisions as well as promoting proactive information release and processing information for release. The Senior FOI and Privacy Advisor will be the decision maker on FOI requests. The role will develop and implement engagement activities that will increase FOI and Privacy awareness across the organisation. The role will also review and provide advice on Privacy Impact Assessments and assist with the investigation of privacy or security complaints/incidents. About Parks Victoria Parks Victoria is a statutory authority of the Victorian Government acting in accordance with the Parks Victoria Act 2018. Parks Victoria is responsible for managing a diverse estate of more than 4 million hectares including 3,000 land and marine parks and reserves making up 18 per cent of Victoria's landmass, 75 per cent of Victoria's wetlands and 70 per cent of Victoria's coastline. Victoria's parks are home to more than 4,300 native plants and around 1,000 native animal species. We're looking for someone with: * Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business administration, Law or a related discipline desirable * Solid understanding of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts and their practical application * Experience interpreting legislative requirements to guide operational decisions * Demonstrated ability to manage all stages of FOI requests, from intake through to decision-making * Skilled in document review, redaction, and coordinating consultations with relevant parties * Strong ability to respond to privacy enquiries and be the lead in privacy investigations * Builds effective working relationships with internal staff and external agencies Your application will need to include: * A Current Resume * A Cover Letter Application Close date: Sunday 26 April 2026 Sound like you?
