**The Role:**
Join the Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, and help reduce loneliness among older Australians. As a volunteer, you’ll be matched with an older person who would love regular social visits.
Visits are relaxed and shaped around shared interests — enjoying a cup of tea, chatting about life experiences, playing a game, listening to music, or sharing a laugh. You don’t need special skills, just a friendly nature and a willingness to connect. A small commitment can make a big difference.
**Our Client:**
You’ll be visiting a woman in her mid‑70s who lives independently in Geelong West. While she manages well at home, she’s been feeling lonely and socially isolated and would truly value companionship and conversation.
She has previously enjoyed attending a craft group and continues to enjoy creative thinking and friendly chats. She also attends Legacy activities monthly, which reflects her appreciation for community connection. Regular one‑on‑one visits would give her something special to look forward to each week.
Your presence could bring warmth, reassurance, and friendship — the kind that genuinely brightens her day.
