Position Information

Cootamundra High School is a rural comprehensive school serving approximately 220 students, including three multi-categorical support classes and an off-campus Outreach Centre supporting students with complex needs. The school values Respect, Responsibility and Excellence, fostering a respectful, inclusive and high-expectation learning environment guided by the mantra Teachers Teach, Students Learn, Be Kind.

With a Family Occupation and Employment Index of 128 and 13% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, the school acknowledges its location on Gudhamangdhuray Wiradjuri land and recognises the history and resilience of the Stolen Generations. Students access a broad curriculum, including Vocational Education and Training through Cootamundra TAFE, and consistently achieve strong HSC outcomes.

Student engagement, wellbeing and learning are supported through inclusive facilities, strong partnerships, Hands On Learning, The Resilience Project, and a Positive Behaviour for Learning framework. Specific Selection Criteria

* Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), with knowledge of current curriculum, assessment, and reporting requirements.
* Capacity to design and implement quality programs and resources that foster a culture of high expectations for a diverse range of student needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a collaborative member of the PDHPE Faculty in contributing towards school and faculty priorities.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
