ABC Container Hire & Sales is looking for an experienced Empty Container Forklift Operator to join our Hemmant Depot team.
This is a hands-on role in a busy yard environment where accuracy, awareness and a solid work ethic matter. If you know your way around container handling equipment and take pride in doing things properly, we want to hear from you.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
* Loading and unloading trucks using Empty Container Handlers and forklifts
* Stacking containers safely and efficiently
* Gating stock in and out using our in-house app
* Photographing and grading containers on arrival
* Completing stock takes and maintaining accurate inventory
* Conducting daily pre-starts and basic maintenance on equipment
* Carrying out minor container repairs and touch-ups
* Assisting with paint prep, sanding, taping and general depot duties
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard
This role works closely with the Depot Supervisor and wider operations team to keep stock flowing and the yard running efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
* Current High Risk Forklift Licence (essential)
* Current Driver Licence
* Experience operating container forklifts / Empty Container Handlers
* Strong attention to detail (inventory accuracy is critical)
* Ability to work well in a small team
* Practical, mechanically minded approach
* Willingness to get involved across the depot when needed
Container yard or wash bay experience will be highly regarded.
