Indicative Base Salary Package: $339,657 to $447,762 (pro rata for part time) - excluding Attraction and Retention Incentive, applicable to the AMU component of this role. Inclusive of Base Salary $188,151 to $254,198 + Private Practice Scheme Allowance + On‐call allowance + Medical Education Expense Allowance + Superannuation (12%). Note: Starting base salary will be negotiated within this classification for the successful candidate, depending on experience and expertise.
Additional Salary Opportunity
* Attraction and Retention Incentive up to $75,000 pa (Pro Rata for part time)
* Subject to meeting eligibility criteria
* Reviewed for eligibility every two years
* Does not form part of the base salary

About The Role
Position Overview: We are seeking suitably qualified physicians passionate about providing holistic and evidence‐based care in a well‐supported, multidisciplinary general medicine hospital environment. Vacancies exist in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and the General Medicine Department; successful applicants may work across one or both areas.
The AMU is a short‐stay ward and unit for adults designed to deliver timely, evidence‐based, holistic care during admission. It provides early senior medical and multidisciplinary input for patients requiring admission under internal medicine units and allows further work‐up of patients with acute undifferentiated medical conditions in a non‐ED clinical space. The General Medicine Department manages patients with multiple comorbidities under 80 years requiring ongoing inpatient care, with consultation and outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Deliver clinical care in the AMU and/or General Medicine Department, including acute admissions and ongoing inpatient management
* Collaborate with nursing, allied health and medical staff, including advanced and basic physician trainees
* Provide early senior medical input and multidisciplinary management plans
* Participate in consultation and outpatient clinics as required
* Contribute to research activities maintaining links with ANU, University of Canberra and Australian Catholic University
Qualifications and Experience
* Medical doctor with specialist registration in Australia
* Training and experience in Acute and General Medicine or a relevant sub‐specialty
* Eligibility for private practice scheme allowance and on‐call allowance
* Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and provide patient‐centred care
Pre‐Employment Requirements
* Hold specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Meet credentialing requirements and receive an endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)
* Undergo a pre‐employment National Police Check
* Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy
