Hours: Part Time, 8 hours per week with potential scope for increased hours by mutual agreement

Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC PHN) is excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated Year 11 student to begin their career journey through a School-Based Business Services Traineeship, combining paid workplace experience with formal study towards a Certificate III in Business.
This role is perfect for a young person who is eager to learn, grow their skills, and gain real-world experience in a supportive and purpose-driven organisation.
About the Role
As a School-Based Trainee, you will work closely with teams across the organisation to support general administration, project coordination, documentation, data entry, stakeholder engagement and day-to-day business operations. Your work will contribute to improving health outcomes for communities across the Hunter, New England and Central Coast regions.
The trainee will rotate across the organisation within the Commissioning, Digital Health and Technology and People, Finance and Operations portfolios, providing exposure to multiple business functions and helping you develop a broad understanding of primary health care administration. This rotation model supports learning, skill development and career exploration while you progress through your training plan.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Creating and formatting business documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Capturing and recording data in PHN systems, including CRM entries and survey results
- Supporting project work across different portfolios
- Attending workplace training, meetings and required RTO learning activities
- Maintaining accurate progress records linked to your training plan
- Contributing to continuous improvement and supporting a positive workplace culture
- Upholding confidentiality, integrity and PHN values in all aspects of your work

Eligibility & Requirements
Enrolled in Year 11 and able to complete a Certificate III in Business with your school or RTO
Able to commit to work hours as outlined in the training contract
Parent/guardian and school agreement to participate in the traineeship
National Police Check
Some after-hours work (e.g., community events) may occasionally be required, with flexibility negotiated with your manager.
