About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced General Practitioner to join our team at Wheatbelt Health Network in Northam, Western Australia and our Aboriginal Health Clinic also in Northam, Western Australia. WHN is a not-for-profit organisation that provides multidisciplinary primary care across the wheatbelt by providing GP, nursing, aboriginal and allied health services.
WHN is a key regional player in delivering health care services with a super clinic in Northam being the organisation’s headquarters. We also provide a clinical service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people and are flexible with workdays and hours, but a minimum of 3 days is preferable. The General Practitioner will help play a crucial role in providing high-quality primary healthcare services to the local aboriginal and non aboriginal community.
What you'll be doing
* Conducting comprehensive medical examinations and assessments of patients
* Diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, illnesses, and injuries
* Prescribing appropriate medications and treatments
* Referring patients to specialists or other healthcare providers as needed
* Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records
* Participating in multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care
* Providing health education and promoting preventive care to patients
What we're looking for
* AHPRA registration and a valid qualification to practice medicine in Australia
* An experienced General Practitioner (FRACGP or FACRRM or someone who does not require any supervision) who has worked in an aboriginal community and/or a primary care setting
* Excellent clinical skills and a thorough understanding of evidence-based medical practices
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams
* Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
