About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
We're looking for an experienced Technology Project Manager to lead and deliver complex technology initiatives across the Technology function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working with highly technical teams, and has a strong track record of delivering business‐critical outcomes on time and within budget.
About the Role
As the Technology Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing end‐to‐end delivery of technology projects across a range of platforms, systems, and business initiatives. You'll work closely with engineers, architects, testers, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure successful execution across multiple workstreams and delivery models.
This role requires a confident, structured project manager who can lead without formal authority, navigate complexity, and proactively manage risk while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage technology projects and workstreams across Technology
* Own and execute all core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, risk, resources, quality, and stakeholder management
* Plan, track, and deliver projects across a range of methodologies and operating models
* Collaborate closely with technical teams including engineers, architects, analysts, and testers to drive delivery outcomes
* Engage and manage internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure alignment and delivery success
* Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies
* Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within agreed budgets
* Support governance, reporting, and communication activities across project delivery
About You and Your Skills
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within a technology function, delivering large scale projects across multiple sites and location
* Demonstrated experience managing end‐to‐end technology project lifecycles
* Strong understanding of project management fundamentals including scope, schedule, budget, risk, resource, quality, and stakeholder management
* Track record of delivering high‐quality, business‐critical initiatives on time and within budget
* Ability to successfully lead cross‐functional teams without direct authority
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with a proactive approach to risk and issue management
* Experience working with external vendors and delivery partners
* Confident user of tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, and Excel
* Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is advantageous
