Fast growing premium brand Collaborative Entrepreneurial culture $120/125k super Job Title: Media Advisor Rate: $71 per hour super (7 hours per day) Duration: 3 month contract Location: Parramatta WFH About the Role: This local council is seeking a Media Adviser to provide advice and assistance to the Lord Mayor, Council Staff and Executive Team on an approved media strategy and media management activities. Reporting to the Media and Communications Manager, you will prepare briefings and media responses, monitor news cycles, and develop proactive and strategic media plans for the council. Key Responsibilities: Monitor news cycles and prepare briefings and media responses in a timely manner. Develop proactive and strategic media plans, including development of key messages and promotional opportunities Research and write media releases, speeches, briefings and other written material Liaise with local, metropolitan and specialist media on matters, managing issues that emerge and provide information Coordinate and attend events and activities and provide all relevant background and preparatory information for activities Key Skills: Qualifications in communication, journalism, politics or public relations, or 5 years political media and communications experience Knowledge of government policies, structures and processes Demonstrated experience in communications with significant experience in media and government relations Experience developing and implementing effective media and communication strategies Outstanding verbal and written skills, highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills If this looks like your next role please apply and Lachlan will call you.
