My client is a large Australian Government agency delivering nationally significant services and currently undertaking a major modernisation of its core systems using Microsoft Azure.
Due to an immediate project requirement, they are seeking a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join their infrastructure team and support the build and deployment of Azure-based systems. The role will focus on supporting project delivery while contributing to the reliability, security, and ongoing maturity of the Azure environment.
This is a long-term contract through to 30 June 2027 with hybrid working arrangements. Canberra is preferred, however candidates based in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, or TAS will also be considered.
Key skills and experience required:
* Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise Azure environments
* Experience across Azure IaaS and PaaS services (Functions, Web Apps, Storage, Service Bus, Event Hub, APIM, Key Vault, Azure SQL)
* Solid experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (ARM and/or Bicep)
* Experience managing and migrating workloads to Azure
* Strong understanding of infrastructure security and risk management
* Ability to own delivery outcomes and resolve complex technical issues
* Experience mentoring junior engineers
* Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to participate in on-call support when required
Candidates must hold a current active baseline clearance upon commencement.
